My Story

My Journey Wasn’t Built On Comfort. It Was Built On Resilience.

I grew up in Pacoima, California, as the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants who came to this country searching for opportunity and a better future.

As a first-generation Latina, I learned early what it felt like to navigate two worlds. I became the translator, the problem solver, and the bridge between my family and a system that often felt confusing and out of reach.

There were rooms where I wasn’t represented. Opportunities that felt inaccessible. Moments when I felt underestimated because of where I came from, the language barrier my family faced, or the expectations placed on young women like me.

At 17, I became a teen mom. Many people would have looked at my circumstances and assumed they already knew how my story would end. But I wanted more. I believed there had to be more.

That belief carried me through some of the most difficult seasons of my life — moments when money was tight, moments after my divorce when I found myself counting quarters from a jar just to make sure my children had something to eat, moments when I felt alone, and moments when the future felt uncertain.

But through every challenge, God never left my side. He gave me strength when I felt weak, hope when I couldn’t see the path ahead, and reminded me that my circumstances did not define my future.

Those experiences taught me something powerful: as women, we are stronger than we realize. We are capable of rebuilding. We are capable of leading. We are capable of creating opportunities where none seem to exist.
